Collection: Burners & Charcoal

The burner is half of it. A mabkhara holds a lit charcoal disc under the bakhoor so the wood warms and smokes rather than catching fire, and the pierced lid sends the scent up in a steady thread instead of a cloud.

Our burners are plated metal with crystal and jewelled detailing, in gold and silver — made to be carried from room to room and then left out on a shelf, because most of them look like an ornament when nothing is burning.

The charcoal is the self-lighting kind: touch a flame to the edge of a disc, wait for it to grey over, and set your bakhoor on top. A burner, a box of discs and a jar of mamool is the whole ritual.
